2012 Green Good Design Award for MHCP

MHCPEuropean Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies(ヨーロッパ建築アートデザイン都市研究センター)と

We are pleased to announce that the MHCP - Medical Herbman Cafe Project (www.mhcp.jp) has won a 2012 Green GOOD DESIGN Award. The celebrated GREEN GOOD DESIGN™ Award, presented annually by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre of Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, awards those who show excellence in product design across a number of categories.

Green GOOD DESIGN indentifies and emphasizes the world's most important examples of sustainable design and to develop a public awareness program to the international general public about which companies are doing the best job in sustainable design for our world environments.

This is the fourth year their institutions have developed this very specialized edition of the original GOOD DESIGN program. The original GOOD DESIGN founded in Chicago in 1950 program remains the oldest and most important Awards Program worldwide. Chicago Athenaeum Architecture and Design Museum is where "GOOD DESIGN" Award began in 1950 under the auspices of Aero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr. who was the curator of MOMA at the time.

For Green GOOD DESIGN, they received hundreds of submissions from around the world. Members of The European Center's International Advisory Committee-worldwide leaders in the design industry-served as the jury and selected over 120 products, programs, people, government, environmental planning, and architecture as outstanding examples of Green Design from 27 nations

In September, 2012, The European Centre and The Chicago Athenaeum will organize a special Conference on the Environment and the winning 2012 Green GOOD DESIGN products and buildings will be exhibited. The exhibition opens at the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana and travels around the United States through 2013. A catalogue yearbook 2011-2012 accompanies the exhibition.
